Eastland Group’s chairman decided to not reappoint

Eastland Group’s chairman Nelson Cull has decided not to seek reappointment for another term. According to the announcement, he will officially step down at the AGM in August 2017.

During Mr. Cull’s tenure, Eastland Group Limited was formally established as the parent company of all the businesses within the group: including Eastland Port, Gisborne Airport and Eastland Network – the electricity network for Gisborne, Wairoa and the East Coast – as well as Eastland Generation, which produces electricity from hydro, diesel and geothermal plants. The company’s profits grew up from AUD 5.6 million in 2010 to AUD 15.2 million for the year ended March 2016.

Eastland Community Trust is responsible for appointing Eastland Group’s board of independent directors, including the chair. Eastland Group’s directors are Matanuku Mahuika, Michael Glover, Tony Gray, John Rae and Kieran Devine.

Earlier Eastland Port reported 38% increase of wood handling above expected level in April 2017. According to the announcement,  223,693 tonnes of wood was loaded onto 11 log vessels.
