Logset Oy, a Finnish forestry machine manufacturer, signed a distribution agreement with the US-based Fabick CAT and Milton CAT. The companies will market Logset products. The initial shipment of machines is scheduled for June.

According to the announcement, under the terms of the agreement, the new dealers will provide sales, parts and service for Logset harvesters and forwarders throughout their service territories:

  • Fabick CAT territory includes the entire state of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, as well as major parts of Missouri and Illinois.
  • Milton CAT territory consists of New England and upstate New York

The Great Lakes Region and the Northeastern United States is a key market for Logset. The area has embraced the Scandinavian cut-to-length (CTL) method of logging, and both Fabick CAT and Milton CAT are leading suppliers of CTL solutions in their territories.

Tapio Nikkanen, Logset’s Chairman of the Board, commented:

“We have considered expanding our operations to the US for some time, and the agreement with both dealers proceeded quickly. The US is the most dynamic economy in the world, and we are extremely pleased to have Fabick and Milton as our US partners. Their commitment to the forestry market, service capabilities and customer focus make them an ideal choice to represent the Logset product.”
