Georgia-Pacific announced a paperboard machine upgrade at its mill in the US

Georgia-Pacific announced a kick-off of a new USD 50 million investment project to upgrade the Brewton mill’s paperboard machine. According to the announcement, slated to begin in late summer 2017, the project will rebuild part of the machine and will improve the quality of the mill’s white-top linerboard product and increase the mill’s competitiveness.

The Brewton mill produces white-top linerboard and solid bleached cartonboard. The mill is the largest employer in Brewton, with approximately 450 employees.

Earlier Georgia-Pacific completed a USD 388 million Brewton mill energy improvement project in the US.
