Oji Nepia and Mitsubishi Paper Mills formed a tissue producing JV in Japan

Oji Nepia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oji Holdings Corporation, and Mitsubishi Paper Mills Limited formed a joint venture to produce household products – MPM Oji Home Products.

Mitsubishi Paper holds 70% share in the JV, while Oji Nepia has 30%.

According to the announcement, the new company will install a tissue paper machine and a tissue converting machine in the area of ​​Mitsubishi Paper Mills’ Hachinohe Mill, located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture of Japan.

The new facility with a total capacity of 18ktpa will be focused on the production of facial and toilet tissues. It is expected to start the operation in April 2019.

Earlier Oji Holdings Corporation (Oji) announced start of pilot facility for Cellulose Nano-Fiber (CNF) production in January 2017.
