Rottneros’ pulp mill in Sweden lost around 7.5% of planned production for 2Q2017 due to unplanned downtime

Rottneros informed that production in the Vallvik Mill had been affected by an unplanned shutdown due to leakage within the recovery boiler. According to the company’s information, the problem is now resolved and production is back to normal.

The shutdown represents an estimated production loss of about 4,500 tonnes in 2Q2017, corresponding to approximately 7.5% of mill’s planned output and about 4.5%of the group’s total planned output for the quarter.

Earlier Rottneros informed about an agreement on debt financing within the framework of the investment program Agenda 500.

The company is an independent and flexible supplier of customized and high-quality pulp. It produces paper pulp at two pulp mills in Sweden: chemical pulp is produced at Vallvik; mechanical pulp is produced at the mill in Rottneros.  It also includes the wood procurement company Rottneros Baltic SIA in Latvia. Rottneros had turnover of approximately SEK 1.5 billion in the 2014 financial year employing around 250 people.
