Xinhua reported that the Zambian government extended its ban on timber exports to all types on June 13, 2017.

Earlier the government had already banned to harvest and export of the Mukula species, an endangered species as well as in-transit of the logs from other countries in the region.

Earlier Zambia changed legislation in order to limit illegal exports of valuable indigenous trees.
